New Leadership at the Center for Sustainable Energy

The CSE Board of Directors has announced the permanent appointment of Lawrence (Larry) E. Goldenhersh as the organization’s president. CSE also announced that Mary McGroarty, a partner at the accounting firm Lindsay & Brownell and current vice-chair of the CSE board of directors, will assume the role of board chair.

The Center for Sustainable Energy’s Equinox Project has released the 2017 San Diego Regional Quality of Life Dashboard, which assesses the top economic and environmental indicators to gauge the region’s progress toward sustainability. This year the dashboard is available for the first time in an online, interactive format at SDQualityofLife.org.

Simplifying solar adoption for apartment owners and condo communities

CSE is collaborating with EnergySage, an online solar marketplace, to promote and simplify installations of solar electric power systems at multifamily residences in California. The partnership has resulted in the development of an easy-to-use, online comparison-shopping tool that provides information about the unique opportunities for shared solar projects and enables apartment building and condo owners to obtain price quotes directly through the website.

CSE has received a 2017 ENERGY STAR Award for Excellence in ENERGY STAR Promotion for outstanding efforts to promote energy-efficient products in the Energy Upgrade California program. CSE’s accomplishments will be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C., on April 26, 2017.

Rebate designed to accelerate adoption of electric vehicles throughout the state

The Center for Sustainable Energy has been selected by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to administer the Charge NY Drive Clean Rebate initiative, which is aimed at increasing the adoption of electric vehicles by consumers and fleet managers­ in the state.

The Center for Sustainable Energy® (CSE) has launched the new Home Energy Improvement Potential Map. The free online resource gives contractors, home energy raters, real estate agents and local governments a tool to identify California homeowners and communities by ZIP code and census tract where residents are most likely to engage in energy improvements from energy efficiency upgrades to solar installations and electric vehicle purchases.
