Effort to help increase energy efficiency of California homes and buildings

CCSE and CalCERTS, Inc. have entered into a partnership agreement to provide training for building science professionals and contractors in the San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego regions.

The training supports programs statewide to help homeowners and building owners understand and identify the most cost-effective and appropriate energy efficiency improvements. Residences and commercial buildings in the state account for about 65 percent of California’s total electrical consumption.

Report outlines framework for solar policies after CSI program concludes    

With the winding down of rebates from the California Solar Initiative (CSI) for residential solar power occurring almost four years ahead of schedule, officials and regulators statewide are wrestling with how to continue support for consumer-scale solar and the California solar industry.

San Diego, CA (May 16, 2013) – The latest survey data on how California’s plug-in electric vehicle ( PEV) drivers use and charge their cars indicates that the majority of respondents have high overall satisfaction with their choice to go electric and use their PEVs as their primary transportation. Under funding from the California Air Resources Board, the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) conducts ongoing PEV owner surveys as part of the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project.

Newly formed Equinox Project will enhance and expand quality of life research and analysis

CSE has announced a merger with the San Diego-based nonprofit Equinox Center. The union officially creates the Equinox Project, an initiative to be directed by CSE to enhance and expand the work of the former Equinox Center, which focused on environmental, economic and civic affairs in the region.

MASS EV Sales Up, GHG Emissions Down through MOR-EV Program

Rebates are helping to rev up Massachusetts drivers to buy and lease electric vehicles (EVs) since they went into effect in June 2014. Nearly three-quarters of recent EV customers who participated in a survey indicated financial incentives were an important factor in their decision to go electric, according to data released by CSE for the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER).
