On the heels of another record-breaking month of rebates for the cleanest cars in California, the Air Resources Board (ARB) voted April 25 to immediately expand the funding and current waiting list for incentive funds that help consumers buy zero-emission and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

CCSE is participating in a free workshop exploring the options and strategies for organizing clean transportation commuting programs for local employers sponsored by the San Diego Regional Clean Cities Coalition from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at the San Diego Automotive Museum.

With demand for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and zero-emission vehicles growing at a record pace in California, the Air Resources Board announced March 28 a rebate waiting list up to a total of $5 million for Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) funds.

To accommodate expected market growth into the summer, ARB staff plan to propose expanding the waiting list by an additional $25 million at the board’s April meeting.

CCSE, administrators of the statewide program, will continue to accept applications for rebates while additional funding is being put in place.

The latest survey of California’s plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) drivers shows differences in primary purchase motivations from owners of one model to the next. The survey also shows increased satisfaction with public charging options and wider availability of workplace charging than in previous surveys.

As administrators of the California Air Resources Board’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP), CCSE conducts ongoing PEV owner surveys.

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) announced that the 2014 Cadillac ELR is approved for eligibility for the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) administered by CCSE.

The ELR is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that operates on electricity as well as an internal combustion engine. It has an EPA-estimated all-electric range of 37 miles (based on 82 MPGe) and a combined gas plus electric range of 340 miles (with a full charge and tank of gas). When the ELR is operating solely on gasoline its EPA-estimated miles per gallon is 31 in the city and 35 on the highway.

In early October, CCSE joined in the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2013 Solar Decathlon at Orange County Great Park in Irvine. The international event drew tens of thousands of visitors to view 19 college teams design, build and operate homes powered by the sun.

State funding agencies allocate $59.55 million in incentives for 2013-14          

The California Air Resources Board has selected CCSE to continue for a fourth year as administrators of the statewide Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) that promotes the purchase or lease of new plug-in hybrid and zero-emission vehicles.

CCSE’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project team joined Fiat USA on a six-week tour up and down the electric vehicle-friendly state of California. While team members spoke to excited car enthusiasts about the available state incentives, Fiat promoted its “environmentally sexy,” all new, all-electric 500e, currently available only in California.

The latest survey showing how PEV drivers use and charge their cars      

The latest survey data on how California’s plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) drivers use and charge their cars indicates that CVRP recipients are highly satisfied with their choice to go electric and use their PEVs as their primary transportation. The study shows PEV owners drive their cars an average of nearly 29 miles per day and charge their vehicles primarily at night when electrical rates are lowest.

CVRP Breaks Application Record in December 2015

California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) rang in the New Year following a record-breaking month during which more than 5,900 new vehicle owners submitted applications. This submission level for December 2015 far exceeded the monthly average of about 4,200 new applications and beats the previous monthly high of 4,900 submissions set in March 2014.

Nationwide, car consumers bought more electric vehicles in December than in any other previous month ever, with 13,650 purchases or leases, even though gas prices were the lowest in nearly six years.

New CVRP Rebates for Fleets in CA Disadvantaged Communities

California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) is offering state and local public agencies serving disadvantaged communities newly increased rebates for purchasing eligible electric vehicles for their fleet operations. CSE, as administrators of the statewide project for the California Air Resources Board, is now accepting rebate applications funded by $2.8 million available from the state’s Low Carbon Transportation Investments.

Experience Electric at Largest Parade of Electric Vehicles

CSE’s Experience Electric – The Better Ride campaign was present at DeAnza College in Cupertino, Calif., to witness electric vehicle (EV) history as attendees at the 42nd Annual Silicon Valley EV Rally broke the Guinness World Record for the largest Electric Vehicle Parade on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Philip Robertson, a Guinness World Records judge, was present and certified that 507 all-electric vehicles fully participated to create the largest EV Parade to date. The previous record was set earlier this year in Stuttgart Germany.
