CCSE is participating in a free workshop exploring the options and strategies for organizing clean transportation commuting programs for local employers sponsored by the San Diego Regional Clean Cities Coalition from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at the San Diego Automotive Museum.

The workshop, Steering San Diego Forward with Clean Mobility, will focus on how to set up an employee clean commuting action plan that takes advantage of the region’s many existing transportation alternatives, such as car sharing, vanpooling, biking, walking and public transit. Instituting such programs is a low-cost way to give employees the chance to consider reducing the environmental impacts of their commuting and can give a company a greener reputation.

“Studies show employers that offer commuter programs and benefits improve employee recruiting and retention and can save money on parking and federal taxes,” said Kevin Wood, a CCSE transportation project manager. “Promoting commuter programs can have a direct impact on a business’s bottom line.”

Presentations will be made by CCSE, Car2Go, Circulate San Diego, Decobike and the San Diego Association of Governments’ iCommute program. Lunch is provided.
