California Energy Commission approves up to $200M for charging installations in support of an estimated 1.5 million EVs in state by 2025

The California Energy Commission has awarded CSE a $15 million grant to develop and implement an initiative to install more electric vehicle charging stations statewide by creating financial incentive projects. The decision further approves up to $200 million for the installations in conjunction with matching funds from regional and local governments.

Rebate designed to accelerate adoption of electric vehicles throughout the state

The Center for Sustainable Energy has been selected by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to administer the Charge NY Drive Clean Rebate initiative, which is aimed at increasing the adoption of electric vehicles by consumers and fleet managers­ in the state.

Brett Williams, Ph.D., CSE’s senior principal advisor for Transportation Programs, has been appointed to a second three-year term on the Alternative Transportation Fuels and Technologies committee of the Transportation Research Board. The appointment recognizes Williams’ expertise and places him among national leaders in clean transportation research.

The Massachusetts governor’s office has announced $12 million in funding for the Commonwealth’s electric vehicle rebate program, Massachusetts Offers Rebates for Electric Vehicles (MOR-EV). The announcement builds upon the Department of Energy Resources’ (DOER) $2 million commitment in January and represents more than double the rebate funding over the lifetime of the MOR-EV program.
