We accelerate the adoption of clean and efficient energy solutions via program administration, technical assistance, policy innovation, and other forms of market facilitation. We are uniquely positioned and engaged with a variety of stakeholders and market actors, including policy-makers, state and federal agencies, regional and local governments, utilities, business and civic leaders, and individuals in both the general market and equity sectors. Our technical areas of focus include distributed energy resources (renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy storage, fuel cells, combined heat and power) and clean transportation.

Job Summary

Assist in the development of the marketing strategy to support the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP), specifically related to event and stakeholder outreach efforts.
Manage outreach team staff (as many as 6 junior team members), including staff based in remote offices, responsible for executing approved strategy.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Use insights on target consumers to create and deliver impactful outreach campaigns including but not limited to events (Booth presence at auto shows, test drive events, community events) and partnership development with relevant stakeholders (ex. Regional utilities, air districts, credit unions, electric auto association groups)
  • Manage and mentor outreach team staff located throughout CA, enabling them to be successful in their respective roles and grow along their respective career paths
  • Work with Transportation Senior Marketing Manager to create and monitor team projects, including developing and managing timelines for project deliverables
  • Manage a dedicated marketing budget(s) and reconcile expenses with external vendors and CSE accounting team 
  • Report regularly the effectiveness of marketing efforts and measure quantitative and qualitative success
  • Assist Transportation Senior Marketing Manager with the support of CSE’s policies and procedures for all general outreach staff. Resolves complex problems within area of responsibility. Consults relevant documentation and liaises with appropriate resources to obtain and provide information on diverse and complex issues for the general outreach team
  • Train and assist new outreach team staff, including on SOPs, Salesforce process, and teamwork files
  • Serve as Salesforce point of contact for the outreach team
  • Assist with events and outreach in the field as needed
  • Assist with business development as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Direct experience managing all of the following: event marketing (planning and execution), stakeholder outreach, email marketing, paid advertising (digital and traditional), social media
  • Direct experience analyzing and reporting on marketing metrics and/or manipulating a contact management database
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Outstanding cross-functional communication skills with the proven ability to align internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to understand technical details as well as provide a broad vision
  • Collaborative team player

Education:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business management or other field related to the primary job requirements is required; MBA or other interdisciplinary graduate degree is a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of professional experience directly related to assisting in the development and execution of marketing strategies and tactics in a mid-level marketing position
  • An MBA with a concentration in Marketing may take the place of some work experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years of staff management experience, ideally including management of staff located in remote location(s)
  • Automotive industry experience is a plus

Licenses, Certificates or Registrations:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

Computer and/or Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated fluency in using standard office software packages (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience working with Salesforce is a plus
  • Familiar with standard office procedures, filing, telephone techniques and operation of office equipment
  • Advanced uses of word processing, spreadsheet, database and other standard software to create well-formatted documents and materials requiring interpretation and critical thought
  • Proficient in typing and good at spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment:

Works in an office environment. Occasional travel to community events, trade shows and other activities away from CSE work location involving evening and/or weekend work

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds in order to transport, set up and take down booth
