Extended Tax Credit for EV Charging Stations

We have good news for those of you who have recently installed EV charging stations, or are seriously considering installing one soon!

To save the country from driving off a “fiscal cliff,” the government extended and reinstated many tax policies; some of which benefit green energy supporters. Part of this is the reinstating of a tax credit for EV charging stations (specifically, any alternative fuel station) that had ended in 2011.

Second Life for EV Batteries

Research study looks at energy storage applications

CCSE is teaming up with the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory ( NREL) to study how lithium ion batteries from electric vehicles (EVs) can have a “second life” in energy storage. The $700,000 award from NREL will be leveraged by an ongoing California Energy Commission-funded CCSE/UC Davis study on the repurposing of used EV batteries for home energy storage.
