In early October, CCSE joined in the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2013 Solar Decathlon at Orange County Great Park in Irvine. The international event drew tens of thousands of visitors to view 19 college teams design, build and operate homes powered by the sun.

The Vienna School of Technology took first place followed by University of Las Vegas Nevada and Czech Technical University.

CCSE participated as an exhibitor, providing information on CCSE’s clean energy programs, including the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) and Energy Upgrade California. One of the highlights of the show was CCSE’s Energy Upgrade California Roadshow, a mobile educational exhibit designed to inform and inspire Californians to learn about and install energy-saving improvements in their homes.

A beneficiary of CCSE’s presence at the event was Priscilla Parish of Pasadena, California, (pictured) who was unaware that the electric vehicle she leased in 2012 qualified for the CVRP cash rebate. She enthusiastically stated, “This is the best information I’ve received all week! As soon as I get home I’m going to head to the CVRP web page and apply for my rebate.”
