Group behind Quality of Life Dashboard elects Peter MacCracken as chairman

The Center for Sustainable Energy’s Equinox Project is prepared to tackle San Diego’s quality-of-life issues with a newly installed advisory board that reads like a who’s who of key San Diego influencers in the environmental, sustainability and economic sectors.

Advisory board members include representatives from public agencies, government, business and not-for-profit organizations, who are engaged in elevating the Equinox Project as the preeminent data-driven sustainability initiative in San Diego County.

Newly elected board chairman Peter James MacCracken, a communications strategist and community leader who helped spearhead “Our Greater San Diego Vision,” wants to increase the reach and impact of the valuable data coming from the Equinox Project’s San Diego Regional Quality of Life Dashboard.

“Our charge includes strategic planning for 2018 and beyond, enhancing the Quality of Life Dashboard’s impact and strategizing to achieve financial sustainability,” MacCracken said.

Equinox Project Manager Mikaela Bolling cited the diversity of industries and interests represented by advisory board and added, “Today there is a broader understanding of sustainability and how it guides our thinking about the environmental and economic viability of our region. For Equinox, our time is now.”

Nick Leibham, chairman of the Center for Sustainable Energy board of directors, lauded the new advisory board’s make up, stating, “The quality of the individuals who joined the board reinforces Equinox’s tremendous value and mission-critical importance.”

The public is encouraged to network and meet the new Equinox Project advisory board at a holiday party hosted by Equinox’s young professionals network, Leaders 2020. The event runs from 6-9 p.m. at North Park Beer Co. at 3038 University Ave., San Diego. Tickets are $5 for Leaders 2020 members and $10 for nonmembers and can be purchased online via the Equinox Project website.
