CCSE has appointed three new members to its board of directors, bringing the total to 15 individuals who help guide the organization in its mission to accelerate the adoption of clean energy policies and technologies.

They are Daniel Chia, director of policy and electricity markets for SolarCity; Angelina Galiteva, governing board member of the California Independent System Operator; and Michael Kelly, executive director of the Los Angeles Coalition for the Economy & Jobs.

“These new members represent a wide breath of knowledge and experience in business, sustainability and government that will help CCSE in finding new avenues for promoting clean energy and creating a greener world,” said CCSE Executive Director Len Hering, RADM, USN (ret).

Meet the Members

Daniel Chia is the director of policy and electricity markets at SolarCity, a San Mateo, Calif., company, overseeing their legislative, regulatory and political affairs in California, Nevada and other Western states. He has 15 years’ experience in government affairs involving environmental and energy policy and regulation. Previously, Chia was deputy director of the Office of Governmental Affairs for the California Public Utilities Commission, a senior advisor to the California Assembly Natural Resources Committee and a program analyst for the California Coastal Commission.

In May 2011, Governor Jerry Brown appointed Angelina Galiteva to the California Independent System Operator Corporation Board of Governors, a group that oversees the operation of the state’s electrical grid and integration of the 33% Renewables Portfolio Standard mandate. She also is founder and principal of NEOptions, Inc., a renewable energy and new technology firm. Galiteva previously worked as executive director for strategic planning for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

Michael Kelly is the executive director of the Los Angeles Coalition for the Economy & Jobs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to economic growth and the creation and retention of quality jobs in the greater LA region. He has worked as the manager of California government relations for the Boeing Company, deputy director of the California Film Commission and then Governor Gray Davis’ deputy cabinet secretary for cabinet affairs, working as a liaison between the governor’s office and assigned governmental agencies and departments.
