CCSE is now a member of the new Department of Energy Better Buildings Residential Network, which connects energy efficiency programs and partners to share best practices and learn from each other to increase the number of American homes that are energy efficient.

CCSE’s participation in the network builds on its prior work administering a $3.9 million Better Building Neighborhood Program grant during 2011-13. Under the grant, CCSE implemented several innovative pilot programs to drive demand for home energy upgrades in the San Diego region. Pilot programs included energy-efficiency home tours, outreach to the real estate and military communities and mobile energy education displays.

“We are excited to continue our relationship with the Department of Energy and energy efficiency program implementers around the country,” said Jack Clark, CCSE director of programs. “The information shared through this network will help homeowners lower their energy bills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

Members participate in peer-exchange calls about residential energy efficiency strategies. Additional member benefits include tools, templates, resources and proven solutions shared by members, updates on residential energy efficiency trends and optional program benchmarking.

Residential Network members provide DOE with an annual update of the number of residential energy efficiency upgrades completed in their sphere of influence and share information about the benefits associated with them.
