Plug In and Get Ready
Facilitating Rapid Deployment of Electric Vehicles and Charging Infrastructure
Center for Sustainable Energy is accelerating the market expansion of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) throughout California by working with local, regional and statewide stakeholders to develop and provide resources and best practices to increase PEV adoption and improve vehicle charging opportunities.
Through regional plans like Plug-In San Diego and Valley takes Charge! in San Joaquin Valley, our clean transportation experts have helped governments facilitate PEV infrastructure investment through five core areas: updating building codes for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE); streamlining EVSE permitting and inspection processes; establishing zoning and parking guidelines for PEVs/EVSE; training for municipal staff and electrical contractors; and outreach and education to local residents and businesses.
