This August, CCSE is joining with National Solar Trainers (NST) in offering a comprehensive five-day training geared toward preparing participants to become solar thermal installers, designers, sales and marketing professionals or entrepreneurs – at less than 10 percent of the normal cost.
Professional, in-depth solar water heating training typically costs $1,000-$2,000, but this discounted training is being offered in support of further developing the San Diego solar marketplace through the California Solar Initiative Thermal Program.
Residential and commercial solar water heating installations are on the rise in California due to the recently increased rebates provided by the California Solar Initiative and the program’s aggressive statewide marketing efforts promoting “water heated by the sun.com.” Businesses, residents and industry alike are rapidly becoming aware of solar water heating technologies and the benefits of lower energy costs and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
According to Jordan DiGiorgio, CCSE’s CSI-Thermal Program manager, “This training is a fantastic opportunity for companies and individuals who are already working in the areas of energy efficiency, plumbing, contracting and other related industries to expand their business and broaden their skillset to include solar water heating.”
The workshop series will cover all aspects of solar water heating from fundamentals to business practices to hands-on installation. It is designed to prepare participants for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Solar Water Heating Entry Level exam.
