CSE

Center for Sustainable Energy

CSE is working with the thirteen California Clean Cities Coalitions accelerate the adoption of alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure by California’s fleets, employers, and cities. The project is funded by the Department of Energy (DOE) through an award to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD). The California Statewide Alternative Fuel and Fleets (CA STAFF) project will carry out the aims of the DOE grant by executing the following initiatives:

  • Conduct workshops for, cities, employers, and fleets on electric vehicle, hydrogen, and natural gas infrastructure and vehicle best practices.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to fleets to support deployment of alternative fuel vehicles (AFV).
  • Complete needs assessment on alternative fuel vehicle training for first responders and fleet technicians.

The CA STAFF project will facilitate continued growth in alternative fuel vehicle and infrastructure market and address ongoing barriers in California. Increased use of alternative fuel vehicles in California will contribute to reductions in air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and dependence on diminishing petroleum-based fuels.
