This CEFAC webinar explored unsecured and secured alternative financing products and marketing tools for increasing the volume of residential energy improvement projects. The speakers introduced new resources available to energy stakeholders that include

  • The Energy Atlas: An interactive marketing research tool that harnesses the largest set of disaggregated energy data in the nation
  • The CHEEF Residential Energy Efficiency Loan (REEL) Program: A new State of California Program offering flexible, unsecured financing for energy efficiency projects at attractive rates for consumers with a broad range of FICO scores.
  • Fannie Mae Green Financing: Fixed rate term financing products for properties undergoing energy and water savings improvements or for properties with existing recognized green certifications.

  • Craig Perkins, Opening Remarks, President and Executive Director of The Energy Coalition
    • The Energy Coalition is a non-profit company that designs and implements innovative resource efficiency programs on behalf of public agencies, utilities and businesses. The mission of The Energy Coalition is to serve as a catalyst for individual and community actions that lower energy demand, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote efficient stewardship of scarce resources.
  • Zoe Elizabeth, Associate Director for Special Projects, California Center for Sustainable Communities – Los Angeles Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability
    • Zoe has a diverse background with over a decade of experience in program development in the nonprofit, public and academic sectors to her role. Specifically she has expertise in greenhouse gas accounting, corporate and governmental environmental sustainability reporting, regional economic development, and social services. She currently manages A Greater Los Angles: A Framework for Regional Sustainability Planning, which will organize and coordinate climate action planning efforts across Los Angeles County.
  • Hannah Gustafson, Senior GIS Data Analyst, California Center for Sustainable Communities – Los Angeles Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability
    • Hannah is a senior GIS data analyst for the LA Energy Atlas project, primarily working to expand the Atlas to the broader Southern California region. She has a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA, where she focused on sustainable urban design and development.
  • Andrew Enriques, Energy Efficiency Analyst, California Hub for Energy Efficiency Finance (CHEEF)
    • Andrew is an Energy Efficiency Analyst with the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA).  In his current role with the California Hub for Energy Efficiency Financing (CHEEF), he works to create and foster the growth of partnerships between California’s lending institutions and CAEATFA to help provide energy efficiency financing options to more Californians.
  • Katie Plett, Vice President & Relationship Manager, HomeStreet Bank Commercial Real Estate
    • Since joining HomeStreet Commercial Real Estate in 2011, Katie has originated over $400M in Fannie Mae DUS ®, Construction, Bridge and Permanent financing. Katie is also actively serving as a Lender representative on Fannie Mae’s Green Housing Task Force.  Katie is a LEED O+M Accredited Professional as well as a Certified Sustainable Building Consultant (CSBA).
