Home buyers are increasingly seeking features that save energy and water in their next homes — a trend that reflects the growing desire for healthier, more sustainable lifestyles. Homes across California are starting to sprout solar photovoltaic panels and electric car chargers, as well as energy-efficient windows and water-conserving yards.

Savvy real estate agents have recognized the business opportunity in becoming educated in sustainability and green features. These agents are prepared to help home sellers maximize the value of improvements they’ve made and to help home buyers identify and verify green features. One way real estate agents can learn about sustainability and set themselves apart from the competition is by earning the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR®) Green Designation.

In the San Diego area, agents can earn this designation at an upcoming training hosted by CSE and the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS®. The three required classes will be held Dec. 4, 8 and 9 in Kearny Mesa. Those who complete the training and pass the daily exams receive the coveted NAR® Green Designation.
